I have owned this car for 4 years and had never had the issue that arose after the visit to this dealership. Even though I asked the service person to address this issue as part of the previous work that had been done on the car, he was adamant that it was unrelated. HE TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE AND DISREGARDED MY ARGUMENT THAT, FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, IT WAS HIGHLY STRANGE THAT THE NOISE HAD STARTED AFTER THEY HAD WORKED ON THE CAR.
I'm adding additional information about the lack of professionalism that this company exercises. In essence, I took my car for service, got it back with issues, and this dealership didn't take responsibility for the damage they had caused. Instead, they proceeded to want to charge another $600 to get the "issue" fixed.
I am not a mechanic, but I found it extremely unusual that I have a shop work on my car, a new sound appears after said work is done, and it is labeled as an unrelated issue. I also find it extremely unusual that the service person wouldn't let the mechanic explain what the issue was. This business didn't take responsibility for their work.
I took the car back the next morning and reproduced the noise for the service attendant and the mechanic who had supposedly worked on the car. As soon as the service person heard the noise he interjected and said that it was an unrelated issue. He did not even let the mechanic do a full diagnosis or provide a further explanation.
Furthermore, just a couple of days ago I received a call from the service manager at this dealership berating me because I had posted a bad review here. When I tried to explain my position, said service manager hanged up the phone. He didn't respond to additional requests to discuss the matter. If this is the attitude that a service manager has, I kind of understand now why the rest of the service at this dealership is so poor.
Rich Jackson and Tim Nagy on the Mazda side of the dealership did an excellent job all the way from our first chat to delivery of the vehicle. Great price, open discussion of lease details, and no attempts to manipulate. Good experience all around. Am happy to recommend them.
I had an amazing time getting my car. I worked with Mark wade who was exceptional. He was down to earth, easy to talk to, and truly knew what he was talking about. I never felt pressured to purchase a car which made it even better. I was able to take the time I needed and ask the questions I had without ever feeling as though I was a bother or being forced to make a decision. He made sure that I was getting into the right vehicle that matched my needs and wants and for a great price. I would highly recommend that anyone who wants a Volvo to come here and especially ask for Mark. I’ve never had such a pleasant experience before when looking for, or purchasing, cars.
A week or so after the service, the service manager sent an email to me and another 50 people or so asking for feedback on the service. Unfortunately, in addition to bad service, this dealership also seems to have no regard for people's privacy. They failed to use a proper mailing system or at least to Bcc all recipients. As a result, my email address is now known by a bunch of other customers of this dealership. I didn't ask for this. Obviously, their information was also divulged without authorization.
I took a 2012 Volvo S60 for transmission work that required a software upgrade. Because this is the Volvo dealership closest to my job, I took it to Connecticut's Own Volvo. I paid for the service and took the vehicle home only to find out that once the engine got hot, it started making a very loud noise. This only happened after I had driven the car for about an hour and wasn't something I detected at the dealership when I picked up the car.
Easy experience working with Smitty! No problems! Thanks, Smitty!
TLDR: Bad service. Didn't take responsibility for damages after work. There are a bunch of good reviews here for their sales, but most of the reviews for their service are bad. Don't do what I did, trust this store because it's a Volvo dealership. Read the reviews.
In addition to this, he had originally quoted a repair for $400 and ended up charging $600.
